Anne van Dam successfully defended the tournament at Aloha Golf Club in 2019, having won the previous year at nearby La Quinta Resort.

This year the tournament returns to Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, in Marbella, Málaga, which last hosted the LET in 2017.

The event has grown massively this year, with a doubling of the prize fund to €600,000.

New for this season, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board will also sponsor the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit, which has been renamed the ‘Race to Costa del Sol’.

The Race to Costa del Sol will showcase the tourism excellence of both the Costa del Sol and Andalusia whilst incentivising the Ladies European Tour members.

All LET players are thrilled to have a new incentive. Olivia Cowan from Germany said: “It’s nice to have a Race and it makes us want to work harder because if we get into the top three then we get an extra bonus at the end of the year.”

Beth Allen, from the United States, commented: “In 2016, when I won the Order of Merit, there was a bonus, but it was only for the winner, so it’s nice to have a bonus for the top three players.”

Camilla Lennarth, from Sweden, added: “It’s wonderful to have a new sponsor and I think it’s perfect for women’s golf.”

The Costa del Sol, in the province of Malaga in southern Spain, is is one of the most in-demand and lavish golf destinations on the planet, not only because of the wide variety of quality golf courses and ideal golfing weather through 12 months of the year, but also because of the top class restaurants, great shopping, cultural sites, beaches and a wide range of hotels, apartments and villas.

With over 70 golf courses, many of which were conceived by masters of golf course design, the Costa del Sol enjoys worldwide prestige and there are courses suitable for every level of golfer.

The Costa del Sol has been recognised as a top European Golf Destination by IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) and is the exclusive destination in continental Europe of PGA Germany.

Many top-level championships have provided unforgettable days of competition on its courses: the Ryder Cup, the World Golf Championship, the Estrella Damm Masters and of course, the Ladies European Tour Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España.
