A few steps from the Spa is Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort’s windswept golf course, hugging the natural topography made of dunes and dells. Designed by South-African Gary Player; considered one of the best players of all time, it features scenic fairways, roughs and greens. The course is designed to suit both beginners and more advanced players. With large fairways and strategically placed bunkers, the course includes a few hero-shots for the more audacious of players. Its proximity to the ocean means changing wind directions, which must be taken into account when playing. Bunkers were shaped using locally sourced sand; while greens, fairways and roughs sprigged with the Cadillac of turf varieties, namely Paspalum Platinium, for its high tolerance to ocean proximity. Thanks to a state-of-the-art water treatment facility, the course is irrigated using recycled water, minimizing its carbon footprint. Ultimately, the Mazagan golf course is the perfect place to work on one’s fitness, endurance and self-discipline.
