Finca Cortesin

Considered one of the best golf resorts in Europe, Finca Cortesin is situated on a 215 hectare hidden estate in the heights of Casares, one of the most tranquil and sought-after enclaves of the Andalucia coast and less than a mile from the beach.

The resort’s privileged location means that Malaga, the capital of the Costa del Sol, as well as two of the most important marinas on the Mediterranean coast, Puerto Banús and Sotogrande, are just a short drive away. And, to make things even easier, the journey time to Malaga airport is only one hour away, whilst Gibraltar can be reached in 35 minutes.

The success of the resort is based on six main characteristics: Award Winning Hotel, Exceptional Real Estate, Championship Golf Course, Outstanding Spa & Sport facilities, Magnificent Beach Club and Exclusive Shopping Area. Customers that arrive at Finca Cortesin will also encounter calm, privacy and pure air.

The hotel, with its design inspired by traditional Andalusian architecture, offers 67 light-filled suites from 50 to 200 sqm, all featuring impressive 4m-high ceilings. Finca Cortesin also has 23,000 sqm of manicured gardens, a luxurious spa showcasing the very best in Thai treatments, four swimming pools, as well as tennis and padel courts.

The 18-hole golf course (Par 72) that surrounds Finca Cortesín is ranked as one of the best in Europe. Designed by one of the finest architects in the industry, Cabell Robinson, the course is highly-rated for its commitment to the environment.

Recently, Finca Cortesin became the first golf course in Spain to receive Acosol’s seal of quality for recycled water. The course uses 100% recycled water to maintain its high standard. Since day one, the resort has always been committed to engaging with the environment, taking the additional milestone in 2017 to update all of the greens on the course to a Bermuda warm season grass. By doing so Finca Cortesin became the first golf course in Spain to feature a new, environmentally-friendly type of Bermuda grass and ensure a decrease of 30% in its water consumption.

Finca Cortesin Golf Club is also a keen supporter of the women’s golf industry and often helps to promote the development of ladies’ golf within the region. The club sponsors three of Spain’s most highly promising female golfers to represent Finca Cortesin as professional ambassadors on tour: Noemi Jimenez, Laura Gómez and recently Nuria Iturrioz, all three are members of the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Currently named Spain’s 5th best golf course, Finca Cortesin has been selected to host the 2023 edition of the Solheim Cup. This prestigious tournament has highly motivated the club to pursue improvements in the quality of service that it provides, as well as showcase the club’s appreciation for its ongoing commitment to the environment and women’s golf.

The Solheim Cup will take place from the 18th – 24th September 2023 and will be the first time that Spain has staged the match between Europe and the United States. For more information on Finca Cortesin, please visit fincacortesin.com
